Great upbeat trance! June 5, 2008 TangerineDreamFiend (MI) Great flowing trance. Has lyrics though on some tracks. I love the instrumental pieces for driving or working out. Or just enhancing the mood!
Must-have for Tiesto fans, 50/50 for trance fans November 10, 2007 Bulldozer (San Diego, CA) Wow. This album brings back so many memories. So this was the first Tiesto album I bought way, way long ago. Don't let the 4-star rating mislead you. This is a very, very good album. It's got very strong tracks, including Dido, Sparkles (Transa remix), Wonder, and Caught Me Running. It's very, very well-mixed. And overall, it's such a great cd for the club or for driving through canyons because it maintains such a high kick of energy through the entire cd.
So why the 4-stars? It's not a typical Tiesto release. Listen to any of Tiesto's Magik or ISOS albums and clearly, this Tiesto CD was ordered for the US masses. It's got a lot of his classic anthems, including the much over-played Silence, but the tracks keep hitting and hitting at you until you feel so overwhelmed that by the time Wonder comes in, you're feet are so sore from dancing. Most Tiesto albums will pack a wallop in the beginning and then tone things down in the middle before kicking things up towards the end. The problem with this CD is that there are no logical breakdowns or buildups to the anthem tracks. Normally, Silence is it's own anthem track, but instead, it builds up to Wonder. And Silence is preceded by Sparkles, which is just a wicked track well-suited for your DDR buffs. So you've these three anthem tracks back to back to back. And the first four tracks, you've got Dido, Dreaming, Going Up, and Light Over Me, which doesn't leave you much chance to catch your breath as it goes into Caught Me Running.
Listening to it in 2007, this CD has definitely aged. Some of the tracks like Dark Blue and Far From Over clearly show their dust. Tracks like Silence have been played to death on every known trance compilation ever produced. Unless you're a big Tiesto fan, I'd advise you to just purchase the tracks individually and skip out on this album. It's not a good CD either for first-time Tiesto listeners, as for me, it sort of initially turned me off from Tiesto---luckily, I found the Magik albums not too much later and those really got me hooked!
And read my other Tiesto reviews!
GOOD CD TO DRIVE WITH August 2, 2007 Anna Baldacchino (Canada) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Summerbreeze is one of the lesser known Cd's that Tiesto has put out but still it is a very good Cd. It has some infectious beats and good rhythm. I like it best in my car when Im cruising the highway! Definitley a good buy.
Dj Tiesto puts together a great mix! June 8, 2007 Jack W. Meikle this whole cd had my head bobbin all day fantastic cd.
My favorite Tiesto November 10, 2006 C. Carothers My favorite of all the Tieasto CDs. This one has it all - great vocals to go along with terrific music, some mix with classical music, seamless transitions between all songs - making this a great, non-stop party mix CD. I'm giving these CDs as presents. Always appreciated.
