rich/full sound for little money! November 23, 2008 Eric I bought this system with the intention of just using the receiver to hook up my expensive speakers. but after I plugged it all in and gave it a listen, I was very impressed with the sound of the speakers and bass. the bass sound itself is that of a much more expensive system. i was expecting alot of distortion , but its really pretty good until you turn it up more than half way, then you do lose some quality. as for the speakers; they have a rich full sound, not that annoying poor treble sound of most speakers in this price. actually the speakers are pretty far beyond anything I have ever heard up to even $100 more. now there were a couple of things I wish it would have had that would have made my rating better. The big thing is there is no remote with the system and so I am assuming there is no way to program a universal remote to control the volume. so you have to get up to adjust the sound which can be a little annoying. and the only other thing is that the center speaker has barely any sound at all. even up full volume , not alot of sound or quality, BUT, fortunately the 4 other speakers are so good you really can't tell unless u have ur ear next to the center speaker.I would definately recommend trying this one out if you don't have alot of money to spend.
Very good for the price. Better than I expected. October 31, 2008 G. Bird (CA, USA) I bought this for my husband for a present. Despite it being an obscure, unheard-of brand, this system was better than I expected as far as sound quality. I also really like that the speakers are small (about 4"x4"x4"), so they are unobtrusive in our really small living room. The only con is really how short the wires are. We ran the rear speakers up to the roof, and then around the room to behind the couch. The area is only approx 10'x8', and the wires barely reached. The front speakers didn't even have enough lenghth to reach from the subwoofer on the floor, to the top corners at the front of the room (6-8' of lenghth needed). But all in all, a great sounding system, and perfect for my budget and needs. In the future maybe I'll get a higher quality one, but this is just fine for now.
Great value - good sound October 29, 2008 D. C. Rose (CT, USA) Bought these as part of a personal Home Theater set-up for a 200 sq foot space. Easy to put together - color coded plugs and sockets. You wouldn't need more - no need to waste money on other speakers for 90% of uses.
Excellent value for money.
so so October 21, 2008 J. MADDI product does not have a remote!!!!!! u have to adjust the sound all the time. only thing good about it is the sound is pretty good.
Decent for the price. September 19, 2008 Joshua Hawkins 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First off the center channel didn't work at all, and if I plugged in the center channel it would mess up the left channel also. I stripped off the RCA plugs, and found the speaker wire to be quite thin, and easily breakable. The means that it'll be common for these speakers to loose connection if you bend the wire enough times, or get it pinched by furniture.
Other than that I was surprised with the volume of the speakers which seem to fit anywhere, and can easily fill up a 256sqft room, but anything larger than that might have problems. The individual volume knobs work great for balancing out channels, but there's no total volume, or left right balance. Only 2 inputs both of which are RCA, and there's no easy way to switch between inputs either.
Overall it's worth the price, but will be a hassle if you try using it for more than 1 device.
