4 out of 5 stars xm boom box   November 17, 2008
James Keith Sperry Jr. (Hanover, PA,)
good sound quality and well built boom box for xm portability. I little larger than I thought it would be, but otherwise good. Jack for external antenna is a nice feature as well

5 out of 5 stars Great Boombox!!!!   October 7, 2008

This is actually the 2nd Belkin boombox I have purchased. I now have one at home and at the office. The sound is incredible and has great bass.

5 out of 5 stars Where is my XM   September 16, 2008
G. Lynch (Spring Creek, Nevada, USA)
For the most part I haven't seen much of my Audio system since it arrived. Seems my wife has it most of the time and my office is still quiet. We have another XM product that I'm going to have to activate to put in the office I guess so I can listen to my favorite channels. The Belkin is a great portable platform for our Roady II.

5 out of 5 stars Delphi XpressRC Receiver Works with Belkin F5X007 XM Audio System   July 5, 2008

The Belkin and Amazon product descriptions were written before the Delphi XpressRC came to market, and have not been updated. I took a chance buying this combination, but the result is glorious! Clear full sound, and a bright color display displaying program details. The Belkin "boombox" is up to the company's usual high quality standards. I'm impressed with the sensitivity of the built-in antenna. I live in Baltimore City where there is a repeater XM signal. The Belkin boombox picks up everywhere inside my house, usually showing 3, and occasionally 2, bars. Walking around on City streets, and sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, it's almost always 3 bars. With batteries installed, the unit is nicely balanced; the big handle makes it easy to carry.

2 out of 5 stars Lasted Three Months   June 9, 2008

On the positive side, this unit has surprisingly nice sound for a small boombox, not Bose, but richer than I expected.

The chief problem is that mine lasted under three months. Belkin is replacing it, but I have to pay shipping to return the defective unit. This radio has had a very easy life - it sits next to my desk. I took it home a couple times for the weekend, but found I seldom used it. So it's on when I am at work, off and unplugged the rest of the time. After ten weeks it stopped picking up any signal (the XM radio still works fine).

The controls on the Belkin are clunky, but functional. There is a remote, but I generally opened the unit to change stations, it was just easier. The antenna strength feature is nice, but if you need help deciding which way to face the radio to get a signal, you're in a poor spot and it's probably not worth the frustration.

If it had lasted longer I'd have given it three or four stars, but if yours does the same thing just outside of warranty, it's going to be a problem. Extended warranties are generally a rip-off, but for this unit I wish I'd gotten one, both for ease of return now, and because I'm afraid the replacement won't last, either.

Update - it cost fifteen dollars to send back the defective one, but the new one only took a week to arrive, so replacement was prompt.
