Editorial Reviews:

Though Papa Roach may get lumped stylistically into the metal-rap category, this young quartet has more in common with the quirky, hard-edged funk-metal stylings of a Faith No More. Hailing from the Northern California burg of Vacaville, the late 1990s found Papa Roach honing their considerable songwriting skills on a plethora of previous releases prior to Infest, their major-label bow. Papa Roach cover a lot of ground on the 12 songs (including one hidden track) on Infest, both musically and lyrically. Singer-songwriter Coby Dick purveys a punk attitude in his vocal inflections, yet the lyrics to "Dead Cell" and "Broken Home" are intensely personal, intelligent, and thoughtful. From the infectious "Last Resort" to the band's trademark call to arms, "Infest," Papa Roach bring elements of rock, hip-hop, funk, metal, and reggae into their distinct, assertive, and surprisingly melodic and cohesive sound that bristles with energy and angst. --Katherine Turman

Amazing guitar hooks and moving lyrics, what more can one want? A wee bit more... Welcome to the world of Colby Dick where white boy rap rules the scene. Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, and Papa Roach's Colby dick. A classis way to ruin a perfectly good rock album. My advice is to forget this cd ever happened and pick up Getting Away With Murder and Lovehatetravedy.

This is an awesome cd. I used to not like them cause their cds were wierd looking but i finally came around and bought a cd, infested. Of course i bought the clean version, since im mormon, but overall, its still a cool cd. Last Resort is the best song on here, but the songs are all good. I just ordered Getting away with murder, and i cant wait for it to arrive.

5 out of 5 stars Classic CD, real rap metal for a generation lost!   September 10, 2003

This CD should be in the Hall of Fame because it is a classic CD that even though it is almost 4 years old is still great. But the genre is old and tired and butchered. Soon emo will be that way that's why I am enjoying it while I still can. Anyway, Papa Roach while much better on this album than on Lovehatetragedy, rock anyway. I have the edited version because I loathe explicit lyrics so I got this one, but there is one thing I like about the explicit which is the song not included on here known as Blood Brothers. If you've played the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games then you know what song I am referring to. On the clean version the song is replaced (why?!?) with a pretty good track called Legacy. All 11 songs rock hard! ...

This CD is definately a must-buy. The editing is perfect, and Last Resort is actually a bit funny because the editing makes it sound like Jacoby (Coby) is spitting. The songs actually mean something, unlike most bands. The definate must buy songs (if you just want to get singles) are:

Last Resort
Broken Home
Between Angels and Insects

The cd is great but it's better regular.I wish they kept blood brothers on it. But still it's a really good cd.
