worst cd ever September 21, 2008 Nina (Ponder) Songs on it are horrible and don't waste your money. I love That 70's show but hate this cd.
Psssssst... for those concerned about missing bands, tracks, etc. April 2, 2007 Raymond C. Ruether (Oklahoma City, OK United States) A couple of reviewers here talk about songs and artists they feel are missing from this CD compilation. To these folks I offer this solution: get this AND a copy of both volumes of the "Dazed And Confused" CD soundtrack series. I'll admit it might not necessarily be comprehensive, but having these three CDs in your collection will give you an excellent cross-section of killer tunes from the 70s (and you can't go wrong by getting down and funky with the That '70s Show Jammin' Album too!). If I have one minor complaint it's that the single versions of "Black Betty" and "Hold Your Head Up" are used here as opposed to the full-length versions, but in the grand scheme of things that's not that huge of an issue (and they DID use the long versions of "Radar Love" and "Let It Ride").
Absolutly Rockin! July 6, 2006 J. Garza (Austin, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This album is one of the greatest. It has all the classic rock bands from the 70s. You could not ask for anything better.
Nice tunes March 26, 2004 will 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I think it's great that the whole series of that 70's show has Big Star in it. They let the people in our generation get a taste of how great the music was in the 70's and i still think Big Star is underrated (must people don't know who they are still). My dad introduced me to the song "feel" on guitar at age 12, and i've been jammin ever since 8 years later. I give credit to some of the other picks too they're great songs...but i don't know if i, or anyone else, would have picked these songs to capture the full 70's experience..thats why 4 stars not 5...groovy man

The irony that Big Star would be included on an album of songs from the 1970's (more particularly sprinkled heavily throughout the show's sound track) should topple the foundation of any fans of classic progressive rock. Whomever's choice it was from the show to included "I'm in Love With a Girl" and "Thirteen" as interlude music and "Out in the Streets" as a theme (sorry Cheap Trick, Alex Chilton's version is better...but a nice nod just the same) should be thanked for giving Big Star some deserved attention by the latest generation. But I guess they couldn't use Big Star's version for the theme because it has that line "...wish we had a joint so bad..." just like they can't show the smoke/haze in the basement. I suppose they couldn't mention that the senior class probably unanimously voted Cannabis Sativa as their class flower, either."Side 2" of this "album", featuring Montrose, BOeC, Ted Nugent, 10cc (good story about how they got their name) and other deeper cuts is really the hightlight of the package. This *actual* music of the 1970's was heard on the FM dial while AM powerhouses played what people think were the great songs of the `70's like most of Elton John's blather, "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band and great choices from KC and the Sunshine Band or Donna Summer (blechhh).
