| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com essential recording The Beatles' last days as a band were as productive as any major pop phenomenon that was about to split. After recording the ragged-but-right Let It Be, the group held on for this ambitious effort, an album that was to become their best-selling. Though all four contribute to the first side's writing, John Lennon's hard-rocking, "Come Together" and "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" make the strongest impression. A series of song fragments edited together in suite form dominates side two; its portentous, touching, official close ("Golden Slumbers"/"Carry That Weight"/"The End") is nicely undercut, in typical Beatles fashion, by Paul McCartney's cheeky "Her Majesty," which follows. --Rickey Wright

Best Album Ever? January 4, 2009 Pat Lamorgese (New Jersey) This is one of my favorite releases ever, with unbelievable songwriting, orchestration, engineering, etc. Each of the Beatles contributes stunning pieces, "Come Together", "I Want You/She's So Heavy", "Because" (John), "You Never Give Me Your Money", "Oh, Darling", "Her Majesty" (Paul), "Octopus's Garden" (Ringo), and "Something", "Here Comes the Sun" (George). A must own!
This album puts the CLASSIC in classic rock . December 25, 2008 L. Harris (New Orleans LA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
One of th greatest albums by one of the greatest artists . Sure , there are a couple of tunes here that might be a bit over-played on your local classic rock station, but when you get past those , what was Side 2 on vinyl, is some of the best music ever recorded . It plays out like a symphony , one long piece of music with varying tempos , different movements , but all connected . I love it .
Ah, Abby Road December 21, 2008 Marcia B. Dickerson (Nashville, TN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of THE best albums ever produced. It's especially poignant when you know that the last cut, "The End," is a "hint" to the real end coming for the group.

Simply amazing December 17, 2008 C. Sanko (Minnesota) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The greatest Beatles album. Every track on this album shines like the sun... and two of them, in fact, do! The entire album flows just like a river, and it's a very amazing experience. Despite what others may think, the Beatles hit their prime here and their swan song was the greatest accomplishment the fab 4 would ever do.
