Product Description After selling over 100,000 digital downloads without a record label, having every song from his last album placed on various TV programs (MTV's "Real World", The CW's "One Tree Hill", Oxygen Channel's "Bad Girls Club", Fox Reality's "The Amazing Adventures Of A Nobody" and many more), and touring 43 of the 50 states in 2007 alone, one can only wonder what will be accomplished next. Over 13,000 CDs sold independently, held #3 Unsigned Artist (worldwide) on MySpace for ten months, #1 Unsigned Acoustic & Pop Artist (worldwide) on MySpace, #1 Artist at awarestore.com & iSound.com, over eleven million plays on MySpace Player and 62,000 friends.
Album Description A one-man project based out of Dallas Texas, Five Times August is really another moniker for Brad Skistimas. Realizing from the get go that his last name wasn't any 'easy to remember' title, Skistimas decided to promote his music with the alias based off his birthday, August 5th. He says,'I don't think many musicians or bands these days realize how lucky they are to actually have a career in music, considering so many people are easily ripping CD's to their computer and sending the files to countless friends. On the other hand, once a new listener finds out that I'm not just another major label act, they realize they're apart of something they can connect with and support on a more personal level...Without their support artists like me wouldn't survive.' He has sold over 100,000 digital downloads without a record label.

Just beginning to see the best of Brad October 13, 2008 Bobbi N Cage (Dallas, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can still remember the first time I saw Brad w/ Five Times August live. I thought, he's good. I saw him again just before the release of this album and I think he has the potential to be an amazing and unforgettable artist. This album has the perfect sound no matter what your mood is. I can listen to "Good Life" while out for a run or cooking in the kitchen. I can't wait to hear more from him.
Another Great Album from Brad... May 13, 2008 Matt (New Jersey) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
"Brighter Side" is a clear evolution of Five Time August's musical style. You can still hear the distinct similarities to "Fry Street" and "The Independent," but things sound more cohesive. While musicianship has always been a good point with Brad's playing, the production of this record is better than past efforts. Whereas Brad's first offerings were more generic acoustic works, "Brighter Side" develops his unique sound while drawing closer to the likes of John Mayer. Overall it's a great CD. Well worth the money. If you're a fan of the acoustic genre, you'd be doing yourself a disservice to not give this album a listen.
