This is Vanessa's 2008 followup album to her world wide platinum selling album 'V'. Vanessa Hudgens' largest role among teenage audiences has been starring in the Disney Channel movie High School Musical, staring as the shy, intelligent student Gabriella Montez. Her first single from this album is 'Sneakernight'. Hudgens was born in Salinas, California, Vanessa is a talented beauty and she comes from an international mixture of Irish Native American by her father and Filipino, Spanish, Chinese descent by her mother. In August 2007 at the Teen Choice Awards, Hudgens was named the Choice Breakout Singer - Female, beating out other noteworthy nominees including American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee, Amy Winehouse, Corrine Bailey Rae and Lily Allen.

1 out of 5 stars Not the best out there...   August 14, 2008

Okay. Honestly, I do enjoy the song Sneakernight and a few other tracks, although I haven't bought the CD yet. I'm not a huge fan of Vanessa, but I do like her somewhat good-girl image in the High School Musical movies and her first album, V. If you ever look on YouTube to see the official music video for Sneakernight, or catch it on Disney Channel, you'll definitely see that she's shedding most of her old image and putting on a new costume. In the video, she acts like she has the world at her hands during close-ups, and along with short shorts, and digitally enhanced legs so she can hide her imperfections, or she just wants to be the envy of young girls out there, this is not what you would expect from a girl like her who portrays a good-girl Gabriella Montez.

I downloaded this album to my iPod and its by far the most I've played. I love her song " Identified" ! I hated her first album , but I love this one!

I liked her first CD but this CD made her voice sound a lot better. The Digitalization and mixing and even the tracks were immensly better than the first one. If you're thinking about giving her another chance after the first CD, this is definately a much better album.

3 out of 5 stars 13 Going on 30 Bubble gum / Synthesized Pop   August 3, 2008

This stuff is surely for the younger generation, but not too young.

Ms. Hudgens sounds a little like Christina Aguilera, but that is where the comparison ends.

She doesn't have the range or the production to fully pull it off.
Based on the lyrics, the audience is probably pre-prom love sick girls. Not a bad effort though.

I'm sure she's hitting her target market, but I'd be anxious to see a more well rounded effort.

I'm giving this 3 stars because 2 of the tracks on the album have a good dance mix, and some powerful vocals respectively, they are the title track "Identified" and the final track "Gone with the wind."

Cherry picking those tracks might probably a better way to sample her music until a more complete and mature album emerges.
