Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
2008 album from the Acid Jazz favorites. Tales From The Beach, recorded in Italy, Germany, Indonesia, London, and mixed in Jakarta, is an album of 15 refreshing and uplifting songs. Each of the tracks are beautifully crafted; with guest vocals from Maysa Leak (I've Been Waiting') and Tony Momrelle, who turns in a stunning vocal on 'When The Sun Comes Down'. Other highlights including the four-to-the-floor stomper, 'Step Aside' and 'N.O.T.', an Acid Jazz-flavored track with horns reminiscent of the Average White Band

4 out of 5 stars COOL BREEZE   October 14, 2008

This is such a refreshing CD and I really enjoy listening to it, but of course Incognito is one of my favorites and they are just great all the time. Good purchase.

3 out of 5 stars Mellow Out With Incognito   August 31, 2008
William m Coles (BALTIMORE, MARYLAND United States)
Well this offering starts of strong but has a few slow moments particularly the ballads were hard to get into. I had been recommended this from Amazon although I really have not been following this group consistently. I am familiar with some of their popular tunes. I agree with the reviewer who stated more instruments/instrumentals would have made the CD more lively. Step Aside really got the joint of to a good start.

5 out of 5 stars Top band does it again!   August 16, 2008
Warren M. Lankford (Atlanta, Georgia USA)
I'm a long time Incognito fan from the days of "Tribes, Vibes and Scribes". This I believe is one of the three best CD's they have ever made. Every song is a winner, with my favorite being "Love, Joy and Understanding." Bluie has done it again. Look forward to the band returning to Atlanta, Georgia soon!

The one thing they forgot is they're a jazz band. Hint. Hint. More instrumentals please! This group has some good vocalist and two great vocalist, but Maysa's songs weren't on her level this time. Tony carried this CD, and it shouldn't be that way. Imaani is no distant third, but neither could she save her songs which made this album boring. Most of all, someone please tell me what these songs have to do with a beach. Go, Cowboys!!! ***After giving the CD more time to marinate, I think the songs are really good. I still think a few higher quality instrumentals would have been great. I really love the Stevie Wonder twist to some of the songs. A little Stevie is like a little salt or a little hot sauce. LOL!! FOUR STARS***

I just purchased "Tales From The Beach", having never heard of Incognito. I am very glad I did. Sophisticated sound, wonderful horns and percussion, and many songs good to dance to. Perfect music for summer at the beach. I plan to purchase their previous albums and catch up on their music.
