Best ever country album October 23, 2008 M. Broman Saw the Glaser Bros. in concert as a warm up band for Merle Haggard about 20 years ago and thought they put on the best concert ever. I am glad to see this in CD as I have worn out the album and cassette over the years. I will continue to play and enjoy this album until the day I die!
The Best June 27, 2008 Dennis F. Hardin (NC USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This group came up with a real winner with this album. For the most part they had the right songs, the right music and the right vocals. This was the peak of Tompal and The Glaser Brothers. This is one of the best country music albums you will ever own.
Great Harmony! Super Songs April 8, 2008 Ben Burton The Glasers are the best ever in harmony and originality in arrangement. This CD contains several of the best songs ever. Notably the Kristofferson masterpiece, "Loving Her Was...,etc", the moving "After All These Years" and one of the most-masterful use of words I have ever encountered in "Maria Consuela." An extra bonus is the fabulous picking on many of the numbers. The one negative is learning in the album notes that the Glasers could not get along well enough to stay together. Shameful!!
Lovin' you for twenty years August 7, 2007 W. fess (louisville,ky) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Every song on this album is golden. Tompall's voice is thrilling. I had this collection on cassette years ago and played it so much it began to drag seriously. Kept it for hard times but was so pleased to find it had made its way to cd. Bought it and cried all the way through Feeling the weight of my chains. I'm not much on country music but this cd is exceptional.
