This is a nice collection of some of his old gospel hits. However, it suffers from the usual drawbacks of live albums (limited background orchestra support, less than ideal vocals at times, etc.) versus studio albums. But, since many of his original gospel studio vinyl albums from the early 1980's (Happy Man, etc.) do not seem to be available in digital format, this is at least one way to enjoy his music from that era if this is what you like.

This was my absolute favorite of BJ's collection - especially the "Old Ruggged Cross" and "Amazing Grace" along with "Just a Closer Walk With Thee." God is first in my life and I love praising Him most. The spiritual music gives me most joy although I enjoy BJ's older songs, these songs bring peace to my soul. I pray that BJ lives the words of the songs he sings on this CD and you also. God Bless you.

I have always loved B. J. Thomas' rendition of Mighty Clouds of Joy, but this Live album and its jazzy version of traditional songs was a huge disappointment. So much so that I returned the CD after hearing most of it. Having heard the previous versions of the same songs by B. J., I can say that this CD and its renditions have not aged well.
