5 out of 5 stars Excellent for the Money...   August 19, 2008
Bears Fan (North Carolina)
I was skeptical at first but pleasantly surprised. This little box did wonders for the system in my convertible Trans Am. It can be thumpy and a little boomy but with a little tweaking, it provides the solid bottom end I love for hard rock. I ended up with two of them placed behind the front seats on the rear floorboards (they won't fit underneath).

I run a JVC Arsenal HD-radio head unit using the built in amps (20 watts/channel) for the four speakers; and the low-level sub outputs for the BASS600's.

On another note, it's advertised at 400W RMS which cannot be true if you do the math. A very rough calculation shows about 168 watts at best (which my car will never use). Don't let the numbers influence your decision. This little box won't crack the asphalt but it will give your system the bottom end you're looking for. Money well spent!

5 out of 5 stars Nice compact bass unit   August 12, 2008

I put this subwoofer in my station wagon between the rear seats and the backward facing jumpseats. It does a good job of filling out the low end. Will it shake the car and annoy the other motorists? Probably not. It just provides good bass in a small space.

The people who are complaining about this sub being weak are either expecting too much from the product or didn't tune it properly to pick up the output of their stereo after installation. I have been completely satisfied with this product.

5 out of 5 stars BOSS AUDIO BASS600 POWERED SUB   August 2, 2008
Douglas E. Smith (Sacramento, Ca.)
Installed two of these in a Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab Pickup. One was enough but two is even better. The amount of space they take up is minimal as compared to a seperate amp and sub box setup. I paired them up with a full Alpine system Cda-9857 headset and Sps-170a speakers. The boss Subs were the most compact of all the powered subs, They each fit perfectly under the front seats and when they hit hard you feel it. They have plenty of power and are built with exceptional quality(very impressed). After having these in the truck I also installed one in the weekend 4runner what a difference. I used floor mats cut to their size and glued to the sub, the stipples on the floor mats keep them from moving even slightly. Boss Bass600 is really a winner. Do yourself a favor and look at the others and compare the specs, sizes, and prices. You won't shatter glass with these, you won't upset people blocks away, You will love the added performance in your vehicle and that is what you are looking for after all!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great for the price!   July 23, 2008

I own a 2002 Toyota Tacoma base cab and there is VERY LITTLE space in this truck. I wanted to find a subwoofer really small that came with an amp and box already built in. The Boss Audio Bass600 was perfect in meeting all my needs. It fits right under the driver's seat and sounds GREAT! The bass sounds loud with no distortion. I can literally feel the power of this sub underneath me as a drive. All my friends thought I had two ten-inch subwoofers when they sat in my truck. For its size, it sounds amazing. It will not set your neighbors' alarms off, but it definitely will give you some "boom." I highly recommend this product to people with small vehicles. For $100, this sub/amp cannot be beat.

5 out of 5 stars Full bass sound without being Pretentious   July 9, 2008

If you just want to fill in the bottom end of your stereo to make up for inadequate door speakers, then this is perfect. If you want to really thump and rattle your fillings...and everything else around...then this isn't for you. My door speakers only go down to around 60 hz, so my bass sound was lacking. This filled it in perfectly for me!! I have a Dodge Quad Cab, and most subwoofers have to go under my back seat. I didn't want to give up the storage space. This fits under my driver's seat (I don't have power seats, in case that makes a difference) and I didn't have to give up any storage.
