This patent-pending technology delivers a cone with more surface area than competing models of the same size. The result is increased bass output and higher efficiency. True Four Ohms
All Reference speakers feature two ohm voice coils. Original factory-installed speaker wiring in many cars is 18-22 gauge. This wire, and heating in the voice coil when power is applied, increase the impedance "seen" by the amplifier or head unit. The impedance of Reference Speakers has been adjusted to compensate for this increase and can be safely driven by any head unit. Edge-Driven Textile Dome Tweeters
These are not commonly used w-domes, but fully edge-driven domes--like those found in better home audio speakers. The benefit is increased power handling and reduced distortion at high output levels. This technology also allows for better integration with the mid/woofer. Unipivot
The Infinity 6022i's unipivot design allows the tweeter to be pointed at the listener's location even when the speaker is mounted off axis. This optimizes the stereo image and ensures a more uniform response. Tweeter Level Adjustment

 Stock Replacements - Excellent April 9, 2010

Installed in the rear sound bar of my 99 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4 4-door, perfect fit, only had to drill two holes and used the two existing stock holes to mount them, they sound great, much better than the stock "Audiolatina" (thats actually the brand name printed on them) speakers. They're powered off a Pioneer DEH-P4100ub with no external amp. With the wiring in the Jeep is hard to tell which wire is the positive or negative leads, the wiring diagrams in the vehicles factory service manual helped greatly, Crutchfield offers the wiring info if you purchase the equipment from them, but they're a bit more expensive usually, something to consider though. As far as bass goes these are NOT subs and are not going to help much, if at all, with adding bass, they don't handle very well near or under 50hz, the instructions state a 53hz minimum, so run a highpass filter on them or deal with the distortion, the highs on the other hand sound great, nice and clear, and the little -3bd button on the tweeter helps with tunning the high end, also the tweeter rotates and is mounted at a slight angle so it can be pointed where ever you want for better a better acoustic image inside the vehicle. I am very pleased with the speakers especially at this price point.

Installed a pair of these for my project car, 89 Honda CRX. They fit perfectly for the rear. Combined with the low profile version for the front and an Alpine deck, the sound quality is "Sweet." Although the acoustics in my CRX aren't the greatest, I also installed a small 8" sub-woofer to help boost bass tones.

I asked for a set of these for Christmas. They were in the $50 range and the reviews here seemed fairly positive. I haven't been into ridiculous overpowered car audio since I was in high school, so my expectations were on the lower side. Essentially, inexpensive speakers from a reputable brand to replace a blown 18 year old speaker in the back of my daily driver.
Installed these yesterday. I am astounded. Even installed without all the included sub-brackets and speaker grilles (just bolted to the rear deck to fit under the factory grilles for a stock install), these speakers sound incredible. So good, in fact, that I came back to Amazon this morning to order another pair to replace the fronts (and there's nothing wrong with those).
I asked for these because they were in the $50 range I couldn't see myself spending more than that on speakers anymore. Now I'm giving serious thought to spending three times as much for another pair without an actual need. We'll see how the commute goes this week. I might just be editing this review to update that I've ordered another pair.
