Product Description
In budget-conscious times such as these, Onkyo's track record of value for money is more relevant than ever. Now, with the TX-SR307 home theater receiver, Onkyo brings unprecedented levels of performance and connectivity to the entry level. On the video side, the TX-SR307 can receive up to three 1080p resolution video sources via HDMI - think Blu-ray Disc, PlayStation, and HD broadcasts - and send pristine video to your compatible high-definition display. When it comes to audio, a suite of Audyssey technologies work to match the sound output to your listening space. The TX-SR307 even makes friendly with your iPod or other MP3 player, via a frontpanel input. All those compressed audio files will sound far better thanks to onboard Music Optimizer technology. Rounding out this versatile system are four gaming modes that allow you to customize the audio to your chosen game type.

5 out of 5 stars great product at a great price   February 23, 2010

can't complain about the purchase. easy setup...good features. the only downside is that it doesn't convert component to hdmi so you have to run a component cable as well as hdmi to your tv. for me this won't be a problem as soon as i upgrade my dvd player to one with hdmi out. the person that complained about buying extra cables...well it's pretty simple. if you wan't digital surround sound you need some sort of digital input. technically yes this signal could be sent through the hdmi cable but i prefer keeping my audio and video on separate cables. it makes it a lot easier to diagnose a problem if one arises. i found two dynex fiber optic cables on ebay for 2.99 a piece and used an old, yet high quality, shielded stereo rca audio cable...split it into two and used one length for the digital coaxial input and the other for my subwoofer. the sound is great...i just wish you could edit the names of the inputs so it would say "xbox" on the receiver when i'm gaming but if that's my biggest concern then you can imagine the quality of this product.

4 out of 5 stars Nice for the price   February 1, 2010

I bought this item as a second receiver and I am happy with my purchase because it gave me the flexibility I needed for hooking up all my components. I like the quick connects on the front for Ipod or other purposes. I would recommend it to others.

This reciever was easy to setup, don't forget to use the setup microphone it balances the sound for the room size. Bought subwoofer and speakers mounted in the ceiling from monoprice.

This receiver is definitely on my best buy list for someone who wants to upgrade their system to the 21st century without breaking the bank.
