good sound quality low audio July 13, 2010 Franklyn Miller (Bahamas) There needs to be a bypass or adjustment to some of this clipping. very modern when it comes to connections but very weak on performance, in bridge mode the base is clean and deep; you just can't seem to get that kick out of this amp. it is like an injured Coby Bryant very frustrating

I think these are great! Know what you're buying before you purchase. These have very limited inputs for speakers. They're great, for instance, if you buy two 500 watt speakers and use the speakon inputs, or if you have speaker cable. But, more modern inputs, such as Bose plugs, will not work here. Just saying.
Also, there was a bit of confusion in setup, but this is my first amp, and it works great!
Very satisfying.

Great amplifier for budget, serves many applications April 21, 2010 The Epic I am quite impressed with this amplifier for the low price it has. I am currently using it to run a speaker system in my room(for movies, music, and video games). One channel is dedicated to powering an 8" 400 watt subwoofer at 4 ohms and the 500 watts of power is perfect for this. The second channel is used to power 2 JVC satellite speakers for upper frequencies. They are 8 ohm so really the amplifier can go 250 watts max with them. This system sounds very good for movies as the subwoofer can recieve a lot more power(those store-bought surround sound packages generally come with an underpowered subwoofer) thus the bass frequencies are excellent. For music I reccomend using an ipod or pc connected to the amplifier, that way you will be able to pre-amplify the audio signal and get the RMS value just right. I have tried using a flash drive plugged into my xbox 360 connected to the amplifier for music, but the speaker system is way underpowered as you can't pre-amplify the audio using this method. Anyway, this amplifier works great for the application I am using it for. I can imagine it would work great for applications such as live sound, PA speaker power, etc. I almost forgot to say this, for the inputs it accepts either 2 cannon male inputs, or 2 1/4" male mono jack inputs. For outputs you can use either the three conductor speaker jacks, or the 4 binding posts to connect speaker wire directly to the amplifier. This amplifier is bridgable, so you can get 1000 watt max power output by using the middle conductor speaker jack(it is labeled) or by connecting the speaker wire to the 2 positive binding posts(no negative involved). If you need 1000 watts of power for a particular application then this amp is great for the price and I highly recommend it. Hope this review helped.
Great little amp April 14, 2010 Ray P. Lucero This amp is a good investment for the cost. It is no crown so dont expect that from it. It is powerful enough to be our DJ back up amplifier. I would suggest it if you are looking for extra power but dont want the extra cost.
Only one channel worked... April 12, 2010 Robert White (Jackson, NH) I purchased this amplifier from Amazon about a month ago now (I have since returned it). The amplifier seemed to be well-built, but when I hooked it up, only one channel worked from from the get-go.
I did some trouble-shooting (switching speakers, cables, and even inputs from right to left and left to right). The speakers worked fine on my old amplifier, but as I said, one channel was totally dead with the new amplifier. I was going to exchange it, but decided to just keep my old amplifier for now.
I gave it three stars because of the ease of the Amazon return policy, it was nothing to print the return form and label and repack it back in the same box and return it. Kudos to Amazon for their return policy. I do have a smaller Pyle amplifier that works great, so maybe this 1000 watt amplifier was just a fluke. As I said, it appeared to be solidly built, and in answer to another reviewer's observation, the fans do make some noise, but not terribly.
