THE ROLLING STONES `Shine A Light' is the soundtrack to director MARTIN SCORSESE'S film of the same name, which documents The Rolling Stones' performances at New York's Beacon Theatre on October 29 and November 1, 2006. With special guests BUDDY GUY, White Stripes' JACK WHITE III and CHRISTINA AGUILERA joining the Stones onstage, the Oscar-winning director captures an extraordinary performance from the band.

DELUXE VERSION - 2 disc set, featuring 22 tracks with expanded packaging. Includes every track from the film, plus four bonus tracks from the shows that were not included in the film- "Paint It Black", "Little T&A", "Shine A Light" and "I'm Free"

5 out of 5 stars Grandson's Joy   August 13, 2008

Grandson just entered the US Air Force and isn't allowed much in the way of personal belongings. He IS allowed his treasured Stones music and was excited to receive Shine A Light from his Nana. Thanks

3 out of 5 stars A little disapointed   July 30, 2008
Renzi Hernandez (San Juan, Puerto Rico)
Is a great record ! No Rolling Stones record could be different! However, I felt a little disapointed when I listen to it because it lacks the force that we normally expect to hear on a live rolling stones record. Mick Jagger voice is very weak, probably because of age, probably it was not his best moment, I can't tell. And the rest of the band also in my opinion sound weak. But if you are a RS fan, you should have it !

This is the best live material I have heard from the band since Get Yer Ya Yas Out!

2 out of 5 stars Get "Butterfield Original Lost Elektra Sessions" Instead   June 8, 2008

"Shine A Light" is a very sad testament to a once great band. Supposed to highlight their extensive back catalog, yet nothing here written since since early-mid 1980's. Highlight is "Jumpin' Jack Flash" with original organ/synthesizer part played on guitar. All down hill thereafter... Don't participate in supporting this. Your money is much better spent on the referenced Butterfield disk.

5 out of 5 stars my appetite was satisfied!   June 3, 2008

Well all I can say is that the boy's have done it again. I went to see the movie with much anticipation. I went alone due to broken promises from the guy's. So There I was (sad to say) the only one in the theatre in a suburb of New York City. And the show was unbelievable on the screen. But to now have the soundtrack deluxe cd has completed the scene for me. This cd is an awesome display of the old aged rockers at their best. I used to say the cd STRIPPED was the best live performance , but I can say now that this cd SHINE A LIGHT has surpassed my thoughts and puts a great smile on my face. I must say I was never anticipating a disappointment. At times some shows I have seen I wanted a little more from Ronnie or KEITH. But the both showed me they care and brought it home in this production of shine a light. Ronnie was awesome and he Litterally blew me away on YOU GOT THE SILVER. Mick was the showman he is and never disappoints. And Keith was a pleasure. Charlie blows me away everytime. and buy the disc it rocks.
