Again with the gorgeous June 5, 2006 N. Fisher (East Coast United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bullitnus' first release. Also part of Leggobeast and baby mammoth, I believe. If you like Bullitnuts, you should definitely check out other pork artists Baby Mammoth, Fila Brazillia (some on 23, some water music).
More excellently chilled out songs from pork.
Electronic beats, properly grooved and chilled amongst playful sampling, detailed instrumentation and synths. Bullitnuts crafts nice, simple, detailed and groovy downtempo gems. Production is top notch, totally cohesive and fits nicely into the sound that apparently only Pork can hammer over, and over again.
Looking for something to drive to?
Looking for something to eat dinner to?
Afterhours? Homework?
This CD, as well as A different Ballgame are totally classic. Nut Roast is the next inspection, and is proving expensive to locate.
Do yourself a favor and check it out, and do the same for fila brazillia and Baby Mammoth. These artists are wonderful, and have a plethora of releases to sort through.
Fan-frigin-tastic!!! September 17, 2005 S. P. Edwards (UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
If you're reading this, you've probably stumbled across this album by accident, unless of course you have a finger on the pulse of the modern downtempo market... that is unless, you have heard the fantastic sounds of Leggo Beast, in which case you are currently looking at a CD released under a Leggo Beast alias..... and what a find! This album, from track 1 to track 10, is almost flawless, I say almost, becasue if you are a fan of Leggo Beast, you will probably be comparing this to Leggo beast, but don't.... break off the stablizers and let this beast free!!! The instant I pressed play on my Cd player, I was greeted with 'Pizzle Road Rhapsody", a ten minute long epic encounter with some of the most neatly constructed melodies and beats created, ranging from the uber chilled out beggining, to the floaty drum and bass sounds later on (think Big Bud here), 9 tracks, 77 minutes and a dropped jaw later, we reach the album finale, 'Semantic Pearls', a slightly shorter track to it's opener, clcking at just over 3 and a half minutes, it brings the album to a close in the best possible way, a dreamy, rolling wake up call that the CD is about to end... and you'll be asking urself where the alst hour and a quarter has gone. all in all this album is a great listen, and tracks like 'donkey stroke' and 'forlean daze' are probably the two standout tracks if I had to pick some. do your self a favour, buy this album and for get leggo beast during ur listne, this stuff is fomr another planet!
