Amazon.com essential recording
Dark Side of the Moon, originally released in 1973, is one of those albums that is discovered anew by each generation of rock listeners. This complex, often psychedelic music works very well because Pink Floyd doesn't rush anything; the songs are mainly slow to mid-tempo, with attention paid throughout to musical texture and mood. The sound effects on songs like "On the Run," "Time" and especially "Money" (with sampled sounds of clinking coins and cash registers turned into rhythmic accompaniment) are impressive, especially when we remember that 1973 was before the advent of digital recording techniques. This is probably Pink Floyd's best-known work, and it's an excellent place to start if you're new to the band. --Genevieve Williams

5 out of 5 stars THE BEST ROCK'S RECORD EVER MADE!!!!!   January 2, 2009

Such an amazing record, outstanding, terrific, the nearest to the total perfection!!! This record is undoubtedly a master piece.
And i'm not taking about the classic master pieces we can find in music, such as: "yoshimi battles the pink robots" or "ok computer". The Dark Side of the Moon reaches a higher level. A level i do not think any other rock band has ever reach or even will.
If you haven`t listened yet i strongly recommend to do it.
The Dark Side of the Moon is an immortal record.

5 out of 5 stars Attention Pink Floyd Fans...   December 31, 2008

Most of their albums are being terrorized by some complete and absolute moron writing one star review after one star review (simply to get attention). It seems they're under the mistaken impression that this is "clever". Click on the button labeled "report this" for every one of them, then write a short letter to Amazon about them. I've done this before, they WILL disappear.
